Jabriel: Hi, my name is Jabriel AlSuhaimi.
2
:I'm an independent podcaster, DJ,
content creator, creative strategist,
3
:a bunch of different things, and I'm
on a lifelong journey of constant
4
:creation, collaboration, and learning.
5
:And today I'm going to give you
a tip about batching, scheduling,
6
:and using a content calendar.
7
:I like to consider myself as
somewhat of a jack of all trades.
8
:I like to throw myself into
new things and challenge myself
9
:to be better going forward.
10
:In terms of podcasting, I've
helped launch shows like curious
11
:humans with Johnny Miller founders
for good with Craig Turner.
12
:And I'm currently the producer,
editor, and co host of the Movie
13
:Newbie which is a film review podcast.
14
:Podcasting has been a part of my life
since I was about nine years old when my
15
:parents got an iPod and I just stumbled
across this podcast called the muggle
16
:cast, which was basically a Harry Potter
podcast that, um, I think people used to
17
:phone in and record the podcast that way.
18
:I think that was about 2009.
19
:And then since then, I've basically
forgot about the medium until:
20
:uh, I was in buenos Aires in Argentina.
21
:And I met this amazing podcast producer.
22
:Her name is Ninah Kopel and she introduced
me to the world of podcasting of, and what
23
:it was like at the time and introduced me
to the shows like cereal, this American
24
:life, a lot of American based podcasts,
and then fast forward to graduating from
25
:my bachelor's program, it was towards
the end of:
26
:work in music, although at the time
there was a little pandemic that hit.
27
:And it was called COVID 19.
28
:So I was jobless working out of my parents
house and I basically fell into podcasting
29
:and the editing side of podcasting.
30
:And it's basically changed my life
and I haven't looked back since.
31
:So that's how I got into podcasting.
32
:I think the biggest thing for me about
podcasting, it's that it's a medium that
33
:anyone can do with very little barriers
to entry, at least for the moment.
34
:I think anyone can create a podcast.
35
:They can basically do it at home and do a
make believe podcast with their friends.
36
:It's something that kids can probably do.
37
:Anyone of any age can do.
38
:And I, that's probably the
main thing that I love.
39
:Although I think that's something
that's starting to change with a lot
40
:of bigger companies coming into it.
41
:It's making podcasting a
little bit scarier to start.
42
:But for me.
43
:I think everyone should
try it at least once.
44
:I think one of the best things you can
do when starting a podcast is learning
45
:how to manage the way you create.
46
:So one thing for me as someone who can be
a little bit messy with the way I go about
47
:my day, I think batching and scheduling
your podcast is very, very important.
48
:So what I like to do is have a recording
day and editing day and then uh, admin
49
:day where I'll basically write the show
notes, show summary, um, show description,
50
:and then there's also a production day.
51
:So if you can figure out a good schedule
for yourself, like where you think
52
:you'll be the most productive, and that's
if you're doing everything yourself.
53
:It could be possible that you're working
with a producer or an editor and...
54
:Maybe you have to find days that work
with them, or if you have a co host,
55
:maybe it's a specific day of week where
you need to start recording, but figuring
56
:out a schedule, batching your content,
and then sticking to that schedule.
57
:Because one of the most important
things is being consistent.
58
:And I think consistency in podcasting is
what keeps the audience there, and what
59
:keeps you motivated to keep on going.
60
:So, I guess that's my big tip.
61
:You can find me at Jabriel AlSuhaimi
dot com and Sibling Creative dot works
62
:or you can check me out on LinkedIn.
63

you can see all of my links in
64
:the show notes and thank you for
listening to podcasting people.
